It also discusses current drug legislation, methods of safe medication administration, common drug interactions and reactions, and the theoretical foundation of medication classification, and the knowledge of different actions and side effects of medications administered by a PSW.

The Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Certificate Program is one of the most respected evidence-based psychotherapy disciplines today. It is primarily used to help people understand thoughts and feelings that influence habits, actions, and behaviors. 

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has strong psychological underpinnings, with much research supporting its effectiveness. The Venipuncture Certificate program is designed to assist medical personnel in developing the skills needed to draw blood samples for laboratory testing. The course is open to any healthcare personnel who wish to enhance their phlebotomy technique skills and features a combination of theory and practical lab experience.  

Students are taught to explore blood chemistry, hematology, and the appropriate equipment required to perform phlebotomy. They also learn how to identify side effects, procedure complications, and the solutions to remedy them.  

The course likewise discusses how to record and report all pertinent information on the tubes and on documentation. Lastly, students will be expected to demonstrate and practice aseptic techniques while performing phlebotomy on mannequin arms and on live case studies.
