It also discusses current drug legislation, methods of safe medication administration, common drug interactions and reactions, and the theoretical foundation of medication classification, and the knowledge of different actions and side effects of medications administered by a PSW.

The Personal Support Worker Pharmacology certificate is intended for Personal Support Workers (PSW) employed in long-term care facilities, hospitals, and home care or community settings. This course emphasizes the fundamental principles of medication administration. Core topics include current drug legislation, methods for safe medication delivery, common drug interactions and adverse reactions, as well as classifications of medications. The curriculum provides a theoretical foundation and comprehensive knowledge regarding the actions and side effects of various medications that PSWs may be responsible for administering.
Objectives
At the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
